I was born into a family of pet people; our family home in West London was basically a petting zoo.
We had dogs, cats, rabbits, chinchillas, hamsters, guinea pigs and fish (yes, they count!). We peaked a total of 37 after a few rabbits got particularly busy... 

Those pets were very much at the heart of our family. We can still make ourselves roar with laughter about the time Lucas, our legendary collie-terrier cross, came trotting through the back door, proud as punch with a full, cooked, roasted leg of lamb in his mouth (no, we never found out whose it was… nor did we go asking…).

I grew up with two sisters, so aside from all the animals, there was always a strong interest in fashion and design - and I developed a love of interiors and furniture from a young age. You could also attribute this to the thousands of copies of House & Garden my mum never threw away - pre-phones, they were the source of hours of entertainment.

So with this upbringing, my two great passions are pets and interior design - while you might not think the two always go hand in hand, this is exactly the reason Fauna was born. When I adopted my lovely, ‘high-spirited’ dog, Farah, I set out to buy all the things new pet owners need - beds, bowls, crates, leads, collars, treat bags etc etc; but I really struggled to find products that suited both my style and actually worked. There are plenty of products out there, but I felt there was too much plastic, too many fussy patterns, too much of the same cutesy, flimsy, throwaway stuff. It didn’t reflect the way I live - or the kind of home I wanted to share with my dog.

So I started Fauna.

Fauna is for people who love their pets and care how things look and feel. People who read interiors magazines, who want quality over quantity, who believe that even the dog bowl deserves to be well designed.

We aim to create pieces that are practical, durable, and beautiful - that fit seamlessly into modern homes and lives, without compromising on function or style. We use quality materials, manufacture responsibly (often in the UK), and keep sustainability at the heart of what we do.

And Fauna isn’t just about what we make. It’s also about what we admire. We carefully curate and sell other brands who share our values - independent makers and designers who care about craftsmanship, aesthetics, and the deep, chaotic joy of living with animals. We want to support and promote British talent and brilliant design.
